This is one of a few examples of studies I've heard about which show that our consciousness doesn't wear the pants in the brain. In other words, our brains usually decide things, and then send a memo to us (the consciousness department). We think we made a decision, but it was actually made a few seconds earlier in an unconscious region of our brains.
